so i'm gaining control of my life (finally). 'how?' you may ask? with a gigantic calendar posted to my refrigerator. if it doesn't make it to the calendar i feel no obligation to make it work. and i'm thinking i might even say it needs to be there a week in advance.
i'm discovering how much hard work it can be sometimes juggling 2 families schedules-who both live in the same city. my side of the family is a bit smaller than j.'s and definitely more laid-back. so this presents a bit of a problem. if i'm not careful i will schedule my entire month of weekends and free nights with his side of the family (parents over for dinner, lunches on sunday, etc) and find myself going a couple months without having any time to bond with the lages.
THIS IS NOT GOOD.
why? because my family rocks the casbah. they are hilarious and honest and compassionate and great listeners. ALL of them are great listeners! how does a girl get so lucky? my dad once said, back when i was in junior high, 'you know why i love my family? We can laugh.'
and i'm tired of neglecting my relationships with them. the problem lies in our laid-back mentality. we are horrible plan-makers. adriel is probably the best one of the bunch and she's just bitchy enough to hold us accountable. we need that.
on a side note, i'm feeling much better these days. throwing up first thing is the best thing i ever decided to do. i need to start eating better and get my ass to the gym. one thing at a time. 10 weeks tomorrow!
