do not ever make cookies with a martha stewart recipe. maybe it's me and i'm a little whiner when it comes to baking, but sheesh. i'm making a st. patrick's day treat (pics later) and i have never worked so hard. thanks to my husband and his forearm strength, my friends and family will be able to enjoy the tasty treats i'm making. otherwise it would have ended up just being me and my housemates knawing on some chilled dough.
anyway, back to martha. i still need to see that show where her daughter rips on her. i have such a love hate relationship with that woman. mostly i hate her because she's really not THAT creative and she obviously totally neglected her children for the pursuit of success and spotless perfection. but i also love her because she inspires me to want to do things i hate and am no good at. like baking. we all need to be stretched sometimes.

I have learned to take inspiration from Martha Stewart's photography and ideas but to never follow her step by step instructions OR make any of her recipes. They always seem to take so much work and produce little flavor for all the freaking effort. But I hope your treats turn out! Can't wait to see 'em.
